Reminders
Reminders
Attendance Students leaving at any time during the day will be recorded as leaving.  This time is figured into their attendance as minutes of instruction time lost.  All tardies are unexcused unless accompanied by a doctor's note.  You can monitor your student's attendance by visiting the parent portal. Ask the school's administrative assistant if you have any questions.  Our community advocate, Mr. Nemik, will contact you to develop a plan for success if attendance is an issue.

Locked Doors  All doors will remain locked for safety purposes.  You must enter through the office and obtain a visitor's pass.  You may use the intercom to call into the office and you will be let in accordingly.

Medication Students are not allowed to bring any medications to school in accordance with medication laws.  If students are in need of any medication during school hours, parents must pick-up the necessary forms in the office and have them completed by a physician prior to bringing medication to school.  This includes cough drops, inhalers, Tylenol, etc.

Uniforms Shorts (appropriate length - must reach the bottom of the index finger) and capris may now be worn.  They may still not have cargo pockets and shirts must be polo and be tucked in.

Drop Off  Please do not drop students off prior to 7:50 a.m. as we do not have supervision until then.  Do not park in the loop.  This is for drop off only.
Pick up is at 3:10 p.m. Monday through Thursday
Pick up on Friday is 1:35 p.m.
Help our school
An easy way to help our school is to enroll in Target's "Take Charge of Education" program.  Whenever you use your Redcard, Target will donate a percentage of your purchase to Columbian.  To enroll for our school go to

Don't forget to clip and send in your Box Tops.

Recycling
COLUMBIAN CARES

You can help reduce our cost of recycling by signing up for curbside recycling at your home.  Contact We Recycle at 542-6327, mention Columbian Elementary when you sign up, and we will receive a monthly discount on our costs.  Thanks for helping the planet and your child's school.
Helpful links
You can access your student's classroom website by clicking on classrooms and then your student's teacher's name.  A new feature on the media page is a running total of books read by Columbian Students.  See Mrs. Plath in the media center for information on Parent Portal and Renaissance Place home connect.
